(CBS12)  \u2014 A 64-year-old Jacksonville woman is facing multiple felony charges after investigators say she intentionally ran over a group of baby ducklings with her vehicle on the city\u2019s Westside.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/cbs12.com\/topic\/Jacksonville%20Sheriff\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/a>, Beverly Sasberry was arrested April 30, after officers connected her to an incident that occurred several days earlier on Tempest Street. A couple told police they watched as a red Honda Accord repeatedly drove over several ducklings, then turned around multiple times to strike them again.<\/p>\n<p>The witnesses later encountered the driver and confronted her about what they had seen. Investigators said the woman admitted she had intentionally killed the ducklings because she was angry that the ducks were making a mess in her yard.<\/p>\n<p>The couple reported the incident to District 4 patrol officers and provided surveillance video that captured the vehicle driving over the animals. (JSO)<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office said it takes crimes against animals seriously and urged anyone who witnesses suspected animal abuse to report it to police. \u201cWe do not take animal cruelty cases lightly,\u201d the agency said.<\/p>\n<p>Sasberry was booked into the Duval County Jail.
