As one of the 2026 Met Gala<\/a> co-chairs<\/a>, Nicole Kidman was one of the biggest stars to watch on the Met steps yesterday evening<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In years past, Kidman, has consistently understood the assignment<\/a>, carefully considering themes and dress codes\u2014be it in new Balenciaga or throwback Chanel\u2014and for 2026, the star chose to wear custom Chanel by Matthieu Blazy. \u201cI\u2019ve had so many decades now where I\u2019ve been associated with Chanel,\u201d Kidman tells Vogue. \u201cAt this time in my life, with Mathieu designing, is beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n

The look, styled by Jason Bolden, consisted of a sequined gown (crafted by the skilled hands of Chanel\u2019s atelier and requiring 800 hours) with feathers around the hips and cuffs, all in a deep red hue\u2014an ode to both love and the Big Apple. \u201cThe color red just kept jumping off the page for me,\u201d says Jason Bolden, Kidman\u2019s stylist. \u201cRed is such a dynamic color when you think of most paintings\u2014it draws people in.\u201d Her jewels? Chanel, too, but of course. A lapis lazuli ring was a particular standout, adding a touch of gorgeous blue.<\/p>\n

The star attended alongside her daughter, Sunday Rose, who was making her Met Gala debut in a sugary pink Dior number. \u201cMy daughter is blooming, and what she wore shows that,\u201d says Kidman.<\/p>\n

For accessories, Kidman donned a special archival Omega \u201cManhattan\u201d watch from 1982. The style is made of 18-karat white and yellow gold and adorned with 34 diamonds on the bezel, 178 on the bracelet, and 12 more placed on the hour markers. (That\u2019s 224 diamonds total.)<\/p>\n

For Kidman\u2019s beauty, makeup artist Gucci Westman and hairstylist Adir Abergel went for an A-list-worthy look. \u201cFor Nicole and [her daughter] Sunday Rose\u2019s first Met Gala together, I wanted to create something that felt like a true homage to their beautiful red-carpet moment,\u201d says Abergel. \u201cI love them both, and it was incredibly special to create these looks for them. I wanted the hair to serve as that quiet, unspoken thread that connects them\u2014woven through femininity, strength, and artistry while still allowing each of their individual expressions to shine.\u201d<\/p>\n
