The 2026 Met Gala featured multiple Los Angeles athletes this year. From Olympians like figure skater Alysa Liu to tennis stars like Serena and Venus Williams, Los Angeles was well represented at one of the biggest nights in fashion.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s theme was \u201cCostume Art\u201d and encouraged attendees to view their outfits as more than just clothing and instead view them as art installations. The annual, invitation-only fundraising event took place on Monday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art\u2019s Costume Institute in New York City.<\/p>\n

LA native and tennis legend Venus Williams wore a one-of-a-kind Swarovski couture gown designed by Giovanna Engelbert. Williams was an event co-chair and one of several athletes part of the host committee.<\/p>\n

Raised in Compton, California, Williams wore a custom, metallic silver dress by Marc Jacobs to the Met Gala.<\/p>\n

Olympic gold medal-winning figure skater and UCLA student Alysa Liu wore a custom Louis Vuitton dress to her first Met Gala. She was also named a new house ambassador for the designer brand on Monday.<\/p>\n

Dwayne \u201cThe Rock\u201d Johnson\"Photo<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Rock\u201d and his wife, Lauren Hashian, arrived at the Met Gala together wearing custom outfits designed by Thom Browne. Johnson is a WWE and movie star, who purchased a home in Beverly Park in Los Angeles in 2021.<\/p>\n

Russell Westbrook\"Photo<\/p>\n

Westbrook wore a custom GapStudio\u00a0ll-blue suit designed by\u00a0Zac Posen with no shirt underneath to the Met Gala. Westbrook played basketball at UCLA before eventually playing for the Los Angeles Lakers from 2021-23.<\/p>\n

Carson Hocevar\"Photo<\/p>\n

After securing his first career Cup Series victory at Talladega Superspeedway in April, Hocevar is the first NASCAR driver to attend the Met Gala since Jeff Gordon attended in 2010. Hocevar wore a suit designed by Dior to the event.<\/p>\n

Hocevar competes for Spire Motorsports, which has ownership ties to the Lakers and Los Angeles Dodgers.<\/p>\n
