Emmerdale unleashed a surprising twist involving Paddy Dingle tonight, with the dramatic court trial<\/a> ushering in three separate verdicts as Bear Wolf took to the stand in a desperate bid to secure his freedom.<\/p>\n

Bear is in court for the murder of Ray Walters, with Paddy and Dylan Penders also facing charges of perverting the course of justice. The week began with several witnesses being called, but a bombshell statement from Simo changed everything<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With Bear’s fate looking bleaker, his lawyer said they had little choice but to put the defendant on the stand, and Paddy reluctantly agreed despite expressing worry that Bear would struggle.<\/p>\n

Tonight’s episode<\/a> of the ITV soap<\/a> saw Bear deliver his testimony, with the character tearfully recalling the horrifying ordeal that he faced at the hands of Ray and his adoptive mother Celia Daniels.<\/p>\n

The prosecutor asserted that Bear killed Ray with a view to taking over his criminal operation, with the figure being overwhelmed with emotion as his integrity was ruthlessly questioned. <\/p>\n

The prosecution rested their case, and the judge called time so the jury could come to their verdict. Upon their return to the courtroom, they find two of the defendants not guilty, with one unidentified person being found guilty. <\/p>\n

It soon became apparent that Dylan was one of the two who was found not guilty, with Paddy telling him to “live [his] life” now that he’s a free man. The villagers talked about the trial, with April lamenting that one party was found guilty.<\/p>\n

As Paddy and Bear had a conversation, it was revealed that Paddy was the one who was found guilty, though he was given a suspended 12-month sentence. He said that he felt “free”, but Bear wasn’t convinced. <\/p>\n

At the scene of Anya’s grave, he delivered a powerful statement on the reality of modern slavery, and paid tribute to Paddy, Dylan and April for saving him from his month-long ordeal. <\/p>\n

Though Bear and Dylan are now free men, Paddy still has the cloud of a criminal conviction looming over him. Though he may not spend any time behind bars, will it affect the vet in the future?<\/p>\n
