CHICAGO (WLS) — One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a South Side shooting on Tuesday afternoon, a Chicago Fire Department spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

The shooting happened before 4 p.m. near West 49th Street and South Hermitage Avenue in the city’s Back of the Yards neighborhood, according to the CFD spokesperson.<\/p>\n

Three people were transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center.<\/p>\n

One person died from their injuries.<\/p>\n

One person was listed in serious to critical condition, and another was listed in fair to serious condition.<\/p>\n

What led up to the shooting was not immediately clear.<\/p>\n

Authorities did not immediately provide further information.<\/p>\n
