She <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2025\/11\/24\/style\/anna-wintour-lauren-sanchez-jeff-bezos-2026-met-gala-sponsorship#:~:text=Jeff%20Bezos%20and%20S%C3%A1nchez%20Bezos,and%20Vogue%20publisher%20Cond%C3%A9%20Nast.\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:told;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">told<\/a> CNN in November: \u201cI think Lauren is going to be a wonderful asset to the museum and to the event. I\u2019m very grateful for her incredible generosity, and she\u2019s a great lover of costume and obviously of fashion, so we\u2019re thrilled she\u2019s part of the night.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Bezos have begun to work closely with Vogue\u2019s publisher Cond\u00e9 Nast in recent years. An industry rumor that surfaced last year suggested that the couple was trying to acquire the magazine publisher, though S\u00e1nchez Bezos has previously denied this. A 2025 Vogue digital cover starring S\u00e1nchez Bezos in her wedding gown was also viewed by commentators as a gesture from Wintour.<\/p>\n<p>The dress code for tonight\u2019s gala is \u201cFashion is Art,\u201d which explores the \u201ccentrality of the dressed body\u201d through subversive interpretations of the human form in the Met\u2019s extensive collection. Her work is seen as a protest of the traditional containment of the female form.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201caging body\u201d section includes an oversized gray hoodie dress by VETEMENTS, emblazoned with the phrase: \u201cI\u2019M RETIRED. The section on \u201cthe disabled body\u201d demonstrates how fashion houses like Burberry have adapted clothes for disability activist Sin\u00e9ad Burke.<\/p>\n<p>The section also features a Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren \u201cMickey and Minnie\u201d dress, paired with an ancient Egyptian statue of a dancing dwarf.<\/p>\n<p>In one ensemble, a mannequin based on the Paralympian athlete Aimee Mullins wears a pair of wooden, gladiatorial Alexander McQueen boots, which are actually prosthetic limbs.
