Credit: Instagramv\/ @chadparkercarey<\/p>\n<p>Empty Stomach Group has revealed the latest offering in its San Antonio smorgasbord \u2014\u00a0and this one is quirked up, to be sure.<\/p>\n<p>First there\u2019s the name: Bar Bamboosh. Then there are the unconventional food offerings at the downtown spot, which opened this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope you guys like baby eels &amp; blood sausage &amp; wine because <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/barbamboosh\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">@barbamboosh<\/a> is open,\u201d Empty Stomach honcho Chad Carey said with an Instagram post unveiling the new concept.<\/p>\n<p>The menu also includes a Manchego Mille Feuille, charcuterie and other small plates.<\/p>\n<p>Empty Stomach Group, Carey\u2019s restaurant and bar collective, includes Barbaro, Hot Joy, Extra Fine, Little Death and Paper Tiger, among other hip gathering spots around town. But Carey insists Bar Bamboosh adds its own special sauce to the mix.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a wine bar before it\u2019s anything else,\u201d Carey said via Instagram. \u201cBut unlike\u00a0@littledeathwine\u00a0it has a broader wine focus. And the food isn\u2019t exactly Spanish but it\u2019s inspired by the punchy little snacks from there. Lots salty ham &amp; garlic &amp; acid &amp; anchovies &amp; cheese.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carey added that Bar Bamboosh, located at 122 E. Houston St., Suite 102, is serving up sliced meats thanks to an antique slicer rehomed from Chef Steven McHugh of Cured at Pearl. The nosh spot will also have cava along with beers on tap thanks to K\u00fcenstler Brewing.<\/p>\n<p>For those who work downtown, Bar Bamboosh positions itself as the perfect spot to catch up with a friend after work over drinks and a bite \u2014 be it baby eel or something more pedestrian.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s weird to talk about a place before you (the people who decide if they like this idea) decide if they like it. But I think it\u2019s fun &amp; original &amp; not-boring and \u2014\u00a0as per always, most importantly \u2014\u00a0delicious,\u201d Carey wrote in the post.<\/p>\n<p>Bar Bamboosh\u2019s hours are 3
