Blue Ivy\u2019s Met Gala debut <\/a>didn\u2019t go off quite as smoothly as it appeared, as dad Jay-Z seemingly pleaded with her to remove her sunglasses on the red carpet. <\/p>\n

In a clip obtained by the Daily Mail<\/a>, the 14-year-old daughter of Beyonc\u00e9 and Jay-Z modeled her billowy cream Balenciaga dress and matching bomber jacket alongside her mother as they made their way up the famous Met Gala<\/a> staircase. <\/p>\n

Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s publicist,\u00a0Yvette Noel-Schure, was seen approaching Blue Ivy while repeatedly gesturing to remove the chic cat-eye accessory. <\/p>\n

The publicist turned to ask Beyonc\u00e9 to instruct the teen to remove the shades, and stylist Ty Hunter got involved as well before a tuxedo-clad Jay-Z made the same request. <\/p>\n

Blue Ivy was seemingly unmoved, ignoring the instructions <\/a>and leaving the sunglasses in place as cameras flashed around her. <\/p>\n

Proud mom Beyonc\u00e9 \u2014 who wore an eye-catching skeleton-inspired gown<\/a> designed by Olivier Rousteing \u2014 was seemingly unaffected by the ongoing conflict, smiling adoringly at her eldest daughter.<\/p>\n

A rep for Beyonc\u00e9 and Jay-Z did not immediately return Page Six\u2019s request for comment on Tuesday. <\/p>\n

For her first trip to the Met Gala, the teen also defied a major rule<\/a> \u2014 in recent years, rules state that all attendees must be at least 18 years old to be included in fashion\u2019s biggest night.<\/p>\n

Though event organizers told the Hollywood Reporter back in 2018 that the Met Gala is \u201cnot an appropriate event for people under 18,\u201d the outlet also clarified that exceptions can apparently be made \u2014 when accompanied by parents.<\/p>\n

Blue Ivy benefitted from an exception, likely due in part to the fact that Beyonc\u00e9 was a co-chair for the event, alongside Oscar winner Nicole Kidman, former journalist Lauren S\u00e1nchez Bezos<\/a> and Vogue icon Anna Wintour.<\/p>\n

Kidman\u2019s daughter Sunday Rose Urban, 17, also appeared alongside her mother<\/a> at the event, modeling a pale purple look by Dior.<\/p>\n

Despite the apparent row over the sunglasses, the \u201cLemonade\u201d hitmaker didn\u2019t seem to have any qualms about her daughter\u2019s big moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels surreal [to be back] because my daughter\u2019s here,\u201d Beyonc\u00e9 told Vogue<\/a> at the event, acknowledging her 10-year absence from the Met Gala.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe looks so beautiful. It\u2019s incredible to be able to share it with her, and I think she looks so incredible,\u201d the proud mother noted of her daughter. <\/p>\n

She added, \u201cShe was ready. She\u00a0is\u00a0ready.\u201d<\/p>\n
