That\u2019s where we begin today\u2019s Recruiting Roundup.<\/p>\n<p>Four-star LB hoping to visit Michigan soon<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Among the best linebackers in the 2027 class is four-star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/rivals\/jhadyn-nelson-284201\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jhadyn Nelson<\/a>. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder from Houston, Texas has been committed to Texas Tech since March, but Alex Whittingham and the Wolverines are continuing to go after the No. 8 ranked linebacker in this cycle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Speaking with <a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/college\/michigan\/article\/michigan-making-strong-push-to-flip-texas-tech-commit-283795308\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Michigan Insider\u2019s Brice Marich<\/a> ($), Nelson revealed that the coaching staff visited him at his high school recently and made it clear how badly wanted he is.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cMichigan was at my school (last week),\u201d Nelson said. \u201cThey wanted to see if I was serious about them and they said they\u2019d crank up the recruitment and I\u2019m really looking forward to it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Nelson has official visits set up for Houston and Texas, so there is room on the schedule for him to take one to Michigan if he wants to. When asked about the possibility of visiting Ann Arbor, Nelson said that he does \u201chope to visit them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Auburn and Miami are two other schools pursuing a flip.<\/p>\n<p>Another top LB target planning OV to Michigan<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Nelson is far from the only linebacker interested in Michigan, as the Wolverines are also heavily pursuing 2027 four-star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/rivals\/roman-igwebuike-250065\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Roman Igwebuike<\/a>. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Chicago native \u2014 who actually is teammates at Mount Carmel High School with four-star wide receiver target Quentin Burrell \u2014 is a Top 15 linebacker in the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The Wolverines met with him at his school this spring, and Igwebuike told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/michigan-wolverines\/news\/rivals300-lb-roman-igwebuike-planning-michigan-official-visit\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">On3\u2019s Ethan McDowell<\/a> ($) that the staff \u201cwas welcoming to me and my family.\u201d He also appreciated the \u201cfamily-like\u201d atmosphere around them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Igwebuike took a trip to Ann Arbor in March, and he said things have been \u201cgood\u201d since then between him and the Wolverines. So much so that he plans on \u201csetting up an OV to get back down there, and then we\u2019ll see where it goes from there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">He already has official visits scheduled to Notre Dame and Clemson, with more schools like Michigan trying to get on his list. Based on the quote above, it sounds like he will end up taking one to Michigan. Others in the mix to receive an official visit include Indiana, Ole Miss and Missouri, according to McDowell.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Igwebuike plans on dropping his top list soon, and Michigan will likely make the cut.<\/p>\n<p>Newest OL commit breaks down decision<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Michigan added a massive piece to its 2027 class over the weekend, as four-star offensive lineman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/rivals\/jakari-lipsey-260903\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jakari Lipsey<\/a> announced his commitment on Saturday morning. The 6-foot-5, 290-pounder from Kalamazoo has been a top target for the Wolverines dating back to the old coaching staff and is among the best prospects not only in the state of Michigan, but also the entire country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Speaking with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/rivals\/news\/four-star-ol-jakari-lipsey-commits-to-michigan\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rivals\u2019 Allen Trieu<\/a> ($), Lipsey explained his decision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cI chose Michigan because they\u2019ve become family,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen I\u2019m there, I know that\u2019s where I belong. Coach (Jim) Harding played a major role in my commitment \u2014 he\u2019s just a great coach and he knows how to develop.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">In a separate interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/michigan-wolverines\/news\/rivals300-ot-commit-jakari-lipsey-its-michigan-the-most-winningest-school\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">On3\u2019s McDowell<\/a> ($), Lipsey also said: \u201cIt\u2019s Michigan, the most winningest school. \u2026 I\u2019ve just been attached to Michigan ever since I\u2019ve been growing up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">As Lipsey alluded to, Harding is among the top offensive line coaches in the country, recently helping former Utah tackles Spencer Fano and Caleb Lomu become first-round NFL draft picks. The hope is he will be able to do the same thing with the players at his disposal in Ann Arbor, including Lipsey.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/michigan-wolverines\/news\/michigan-commit-impact-breaking-down-rivals300-ot-jakari-lipsey\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">McDowell<\/a> ($), Lipsey was among the first recruits that Harding connected with upon getting hired. \u201cThey built a great bond, playing basketball together during his visit \u2026 Michigan visited (Lipsey\u2019s high school) to meet with him again recently and made sure he knew how badly he was wanted in Ann Arbor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Lipsey \u2014 who is ranked No. 3 in the state of Michigan, No. 9 at the offensive tackle position and No. 104 overall on the Rivals Industry Ranking \u2014 chose the Wolverines over LSU, UCLA, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Ohio State and others.
