{"id":779017,"date":"2026-05-07T06:28:16","date_gmt":"2026-05-07T06:28:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/779017\/"},"modified":"2026-05-07T06:28:16","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T06:28:16","slug":"dallas-isds-bond-proposal-passed-district-6-incumbent-joyce-foreman-wins-re-election-bid-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/779017\/","title":{"rendered":"Dallas ISD\u2019s bond proposal passed, District 6 incumbent Joyce Foreman wins re-election bid"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oakcliff.advocatemag.com\/2025\/11\/dallas-city-council-elections-november-2\/voting-scaled-1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-88220 nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-96193\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/1778135296_347_voting-scaled-1.jpg\" alt=\"Dallas Elections\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1449\"  \/><\/a>Voters passed all four of Dallas ISD\u2019s bond propositions by more than 70% of the total ballots cast for each, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallascountyvotes.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Election-Night-Final.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dallas County\u2019s final unofficial results report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Proposition A, which garnered 28,514 votes and 74.3% of the total, asked for about $5.9 billion \u201cfor school facilities, land and buses, including district-wide (a) safety and security, (b) new replacement schools, (c) renovated schools, (d) physical education facilities and (e) technology infrastructure,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallascountyvotes.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Joint-and-Special-Election-Full-Sample-Ballot-050226.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">according to the sample ballot<\/a>. All schools in the district are expected to be renovated, and 26 are to be replaced, including Cedar Crest Elementary, John F. Peeler Elementary, Stevens Park Elementary, Dr. Frederick Douglass Todd Sr. Middle School \/ Whitney M. Young Jr. Elementary and Winnetka Elementary.<\/p>\n<p>Proposition B is for technology upgrades, totalling $144.7 million, and was passed with 28,649 votes and 74.78% of the total.<\/p>\n<p>Proposition C will use about $143.3 million to \u201c(refund) all or a portion of the principal, interest and redemption premium on certain previously issued maintenance tax obligations of the district,\u201d or refinance its debt.
