<\/a><\/p>\n Anastasia Obis<\/a><\/p>\n \n May 6, 2026 5:17 pm <\/p>\n 3 min read<\/p>\n The Defense Health Agency is preparing to transition millions of TRICARE beneficiaries to a new login platform known as myAuth as the Pentagon continues to phase out its outdated login systems like the legacy DS Logon. \u00a0<\/p>\n The agency announced this week that TRICARE systems will begin transitioning to myAuth on a rolling basis starting this spring and continuing through the end of 2026. DS Logon \u2014 the largest legacy credentialing system that provides access to more than 200 Defense Department and Department of Veterans Affairs websites \u2014 will remain available until it is fully retired on Sept. 30.<\/p>\n \u201cThis change won\u2019t happen at the same time for all platforms. Until all these platforms have transitioned to myAuth, you may still need to use DS Logon for certain logins,\u201d DHA said in a statement.<\/p>\n The transition will affect every major contractor and online platform tied to TRICARE benefits, including Humana Military, which provides health care for the TRICARE East Region, TriWest Healthcare Alliance, which provides health care in the West Region, International SOS for overseas beneficiaries, WPS Government Services for TRICARE For Life, Express Scripts for the TRICARE pharmacy program and United Concordia for the TRICARE dental program.\u00a0<\/p>\n ]]><\/p>\n The Military Health System GENESIS Patient Portal, which beneficiaries use to access medical records, book appointments, complete virtual visits or communicate with military treatment facilities, is also expected to transition to the new authentication system.\u00a0<\/p>\n With myAuth, users will be able to sign in using a Common Access Card, a username and password along with a secure authentication method, or Okta Verify, a mobile application that allows users to securely access systems without a CAC.\u00a0<\/p>\n TRICARE beneficiaries will receive official notifications about the transition from DoD and the Defense Health Agency \u2014 officials urged users to ensure their contact information in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System is up to date since this transition-related communications will be sent to the contact information in those records.<\/p>\n The DoD launched a broad communications campaign last year to ensure users are aware of the switch.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re executing and sending out millions of emails to our customers to let them know, \u2018Hey, we\u2019re doing this solution. Here are these options for you.\u2019 The last round of emails offered the link to download the Okta Verify so they can sign up for that password solution. Because that\u2019s what we\u2019re hearing, is they\u2019re tired of passwords,\u201d a DoD official told<\/a> Federal News Network in July.<\/p>\n Transitioning TRICARE beneficiaries to myAuth is part of a broader push to modernize identify management across the department \u2014 the department announced the effort to phase out DS Logon and replace it with myAuth last May. \u00a0The pilot phase began with two of DoD\u2019s highest-traffic applications: milConnect, where users manage military benefits, and ID Card Office Online (IDCO), used to issue or renew identification credentials. The two platforms have since completed the switch.<\/p>\n The department plans to transition more than 20 million users to myAuth. And while DoD wants to sunset DS Logon by the end of fiscal 2026, it is not the only system being replaced by myAuth \u2014\u00a0the department is working to collapse fragmented authentication solutions to create an enterprise-wide solution.<\/p>\n ]]><\/p>\n
