From one of the balconies of the presidential headquarters, the K-pop superband greeted about 50,000 people who had gathered in the Z\u00f3calo square, according to figures from the capital\u2019s government.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAddressing the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/nmasforo\/status\/2052166228265836776?s=20\">crowd gathered<\/a> in the country\u2019s main public square, the South Korean band delivered messages in Spanish and English to their fandom, known as ARMY, sparking applause, smiles and even tears. I don\u2019t speak Spanish very well, but I will try,\u201d V said. \u201cI\u2019ve missed you. We\u2019ve missed Mexico so much. The energy here is incredible. Goodbye,\u201d he added, reading the message in Spanish from his phone.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe band appeared impressed by the turnout in the Constitution Plaza (the official name of the Z\u00f3calo). The group members, dressed in elegant beige and navy-blue suits, tried to capture the energy and euphoria of their fans with their phones\u2019 cameras.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI already told them that they have to come back next year,\u201d Sheinbaum said in a very brief message to the crowd, voicing the wish of many to see BTS perform in a free concert at the Z\u00f3calo. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tLater, the Mexican president posted a message on her social media accompanied by <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Claudiashein\/status\/2052167260299465198?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">a photograph<\/a> with the seven members of the K-pop giant. \u201cI warmly welcome one of the most beloved groups among the youth of Mexico: BTS,\u201d she wrote. \u201cMusic and values unite Mexico and South Korea.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSheinbaum\u2019s invitation to BTS to the presidential headquarters sparked a wave of criticism from some members of ARMY on social media, who asked the Mexican leader not to politicize the group\u2019s visit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBTS returned to Mexico to perform three concerts at the GNP Seguros Stadium this Thursday (May 7), Saturday (May 9) and Sunday (May 10). For these sold-out shows, promoter Ocesa reported selling over 136,000 tickets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSheinbaum has embraced the desire of ARMY Mexico members after tickets for BTS\u2019s three concerts sold out in less than an hour. Through a letter, the president <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/bts-mexico-president-asks-south-korea-leader-more-concerts\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">asked her South Korean counterpart<\/a>, Lee Jae Myung, for more concerts in the country, as she revealed herself on January 26.
