PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — Temple University held its 139th University Commencement Ceremony.<\/p>\n
Of the many graduates who turned their tassels, one can say she is receiving her diploma with the most life experience.<\/p>\n
Peggy Moore is the oldest of the 2026 graduating class, achieving the milestone at 75-years-old.<\/p>\n
She has worked at Temple University for the last 44 years.<\/p>\n
“I’ve felt like now I have made it. I never gave up. And this is what I’m telling my fellow graduates: ‘Keep persevering and just keep going,'” said Peggy Moore, Administrative Specialist at Temple University.<\/p>\n
” I would start and stop taking classes when I felt stressed… and things happened along the way…I had two children that I had to raise… And then I had an elderly mother that I had to take care of as well. And I had a lot of obstacles. And I overcame all those obstacles,” she continued.<\/p>\n
“We have over 8000 graduates today coming through. They are part of the Temple family now and moving forward. And we’re so proud of all the work they’ve done to get here. They will have bright futures ahead. We know it. Philadelphia is lucky to have them,” said Jodi Bailey, VP for Student Affairs at Temple University.<\/p>\n
