{"id":779285,"date":"2026-05-07T09:07:15","date_gmt":"2026-05-07T09:07:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/779285\/"},"modified":"2026-05-07T09:07:15","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T09:07:15","slug":"philadelphia-restaurants-offer-small-portions-for-those-on-weight-loss-drugs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/779285\/","title":{"rendered":"Philadelphia restaurants offer small portions for those on weight-loss drugs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                    \u2018Small\u2019 vs. \u2018standard\u2019 meal portions<\/p>\n<p>She said it\u2019s promising to see restaurants offering smaller portions, and she\u2019ll watch to see if it actually leads to people not overeating as much.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow that they\u2019re calling it lighter portions, are people going to think, \u2018Well, I\u2019m not going to be full if I order from a lighter portion?\u2019 Even if the calories are sufficient to fill someone up,\u201d Hua said.<\/p>\n<p>She recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0195666326000565?via=ihub\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">did a field experiment<\/a> where two caf\u00e9s introduced smaller versions of existing dishes, as well as the regular size. She said that she found people did buy the smaller and less expensive version when offered, and \u201cjust by simply offering a smaller portion, people who purchased that smaller portion had fewer calories in their transaction by basically half.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hua also found that the caf\u00e9s did not lose money by doing this experiment.
