Michigan Ave. Photos and video of the not-yet-open restaurant captured Tuesday show windows with pink and white awnings and a large bow atop a &#8220;Hello Kitty Cafe&#8221; sign.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hello Kitty Cafe Chicago,&#8221; the signs show. &#8220;Coming soon.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/IMG_1312.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>Similar Hello Kitty Cafes are already open in other cities, including in Las Vegas, Santa Clara in California and Vancouver in Canada. The Hello Kitty &#8220;Grand Cafe&#8221; in Irvine includes a menu of freshly baked cookies, cakes, donuts, seasonal goodies and handmade drinks, the site showed. Some Hello Kitty Cafes serve afternoon tea or cocktails, according to the Sanrio site. <\/p>\n<p>The cafe opening in Chicago comes after the Hello Kitty pop-up Truck, which travels to cities and malls across the country, stopped in Chicago in 2025. <\/p>\n<p>It wasn&#8217;t immediately clear what would be served at the Hello Kitty Cafe in Chicago, or when it was expected to open. <\/p>\n<p>Sanrio did not immediately respond to NBC Chicago&#8217;s request for information. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A new cafe featuring a beloved character appears to be coming to the Magnificent Mile.
