Big Apple real estate tycoon Steve Roth compared Mayor Zohran Mamdani\u2019s \u201ctax the rich\u201d rallying cry<\/a> to racial slurs \u2014 as he ripped the socialist\u2019s vendetta against the ultra-rich as \u201cirresponsible and dangerous.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Vornado Realty Trust chairman tore into Hizzoner during an earnings call<\/a> on Tuesday as Mamdani forged ahead with his push to stick it to the rich.<\/p>\n

\u201cI must say that I consider the phrase tax the rich \u2014 quote \u2018tax the rich\u2019 \u2014 when spit out with anger and contempt by politicians both here and across the country, to be just as hateful as some disgusting racial slurs, and even the phrase \u2018from the river to the sea,\u2019\u201d Roth said, referencing the anti-Israel rallying cry spewed at Palestinian protests.<\/p>\n

Roth argued Mamdani\u2019s attack on the rich had made them targets \u2014 when they should actually be \u201cpraised and thanked\u201d for keeping the city afloat.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe rich whom the politicians are targeting, starting with nothing, are the epitome of the American dream,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The real estate titan lashed out after Mamdani used billionaire bigwig Ken Griffin\u2019s $238 million Midtown penthouse as a backdrop in a recent social media video to drum up support for his proposed tax hike on luxury second homes in the city.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are all shocked that our young mayor would pull this stunt in front of Ken\u2019s home and single him out for ridicule,\u201d Roth said on the earnings call.<\/p>\n
