{"id":780185,"date":"2026-05-07T18:19:17","date_gmt":"2026-05-07T18:19:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/780185\/"},"modified":"2026-05-07T18:19:17","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T18:19:17","slug":"mayor-signs-set-of-bills-limiting-ice-activity-in-philadelphia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/780185\/","title":{"rendered":"Mayor signs set of bills limiting ICE activity in Philadelphia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) \u2014 Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker has signed most of the package of legislation that puts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.audacy.com\/kywnewsradio\/news\/local\/city-council-passes-7-bills-restrict-ice-operations-philly\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">curbs on how ICE agents can operate<\/a> in the city. One bill will become law without her signature.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The mayor signed six bills that mostly mirrored an executive order already in effect prohibiting discrimination based on immigration status, along with bills barring ICE operations on city-owned and community spaces. <\/p>\n<p>On the advice of the Law Department, Parker did not sign the bill that forbids law enforcement from concealing their identities through masks, covered badges or unmarked cars.
