\n\tEXCLUSIVE: <\/strong>Lizzy Caplan<\/a> (Fleishman is in Trouble, Masters of Sex) has joined the cast of Apple TV<\/a>\u2018s The Morning Show<\/a> for Season 5. She will play Gwen, a passionate and uncompromising Broadway theater director.<\/p>\n

\n\tCaplan is the latest big-name recurring cast addition to Season 5, following Jeff Daniels, Rene\u00e9 Rapp, Jesse Williams, and Sean Hayes. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Morning Show\u00a0explores the cutthroat world of morning news and the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning. It explores the unique challenges faced by the women and men who carry out this daily televised ritual.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe series stars Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, who also executive produce, as well as Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Nicole Beharie, and Jon Hamm.<\/p>\n

\n\tSeason 4 took place in spring 2024, almost two years after the events of Season 3. With the UBA-NBN merger complete, the newsroom must grapple with newfound responsibility, hidden motives, and the elusive nature of truth in a polarized America. <\/p>\n

\n\tSeason 3 received 16 Emmy nominations, with Crudup landing his second Emmy Award win for his performance as Cory Ellison in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Morning Show is showrun and executive produced by Charlotte Stoudt, and directed and executive produced by Mimi Leder. The series is produced by the television studio Media Res, and executive produced by Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer through Media Res, along with Stoudt and Leder. Witherspoon executive produces alongside Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine, while Aniston and Kristin Hahn executive produce through Echo Films. Zander Lehmann and Micah Schraft also executive produce.<\/p>\n

\n\tCaplan most recently starred in Netflix\u2019s six-episode conspiracy thriller\u00a0Zero Day\u00a0and the FX limited series\u00a0Fleishman Is in Trouble, earning an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress. She also starred in Showtime\u2019s Masters of Sex, for which she received a second Emmy nom, appeared in the Lionsgate thriller\u00a0Cobweb,\u00a0and led the Paramount+ series\u00a0Fatal Attraction. She recently wrapped work on\u00a0Boys from Brazil\u00a0for Netflix with Jeremy Strong.<\/p>\n

\n\tHer additional TV credits include season two of Hulu\u2019s\u00a0Castle Rock, Apple TV+\u2019s\u00a0Truth Be Told,\u00a0Das Boot, the sequel series to Wolfgang Petersen\u2019s 1981 film, and the BBC comedy thriller\u00a0Ill Behavior. She also starred in the cult-favorite comedy\u00a0Party Down, voiced Reagan Ridley in Netflix\u2019s animated series\u00a0Inside Job, and appeared in\u00a0The Class,\u00a0Related,\u00a0True Blood,\u00a0New Girl, and Judd Apatow\u2019s\u00a0Freaks and Geeks.
