Students lined up at the Vista Room April 28 greeted with candle lit tables, rose petals and the aroma of fresh soups at Texas A&M University-San Antonio\u2019s Fork N\u2019 Film.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Campus Activities Board hosted the event, which served hot soups catered by Chartwells such as loaded potato, tomato and french onion, various cheeses and meats, as well as fruits and macaroons for attendees to enjoy while watching \u201cRatatouille,\u201d an animated film about a culinary rat, Remy, who is fulfilling his dream of being a chef in one of Paris\u2019s famous restaurants. The event was CAB\u2019s sign-off event for the spring 2026 semester.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The first 100 attendees received a complimentary charcuterie board. Students were seen setting up their boards and taking pictures with their creations.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI like that everyone had their strawberries, grapes and cheeses because literally the first few minutes of the movie was just him eating all the fruits,\u201d Melanie Trujillo, CAB event coordinator, said in an interview after the event. \u201cIt was so amazing to see students eating it while watching the movie.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u00a0Mia Martinez, A&M-San Antonio marketing junior, said she didn\u2019t think this was an event; it was an experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cMy friend and I lined up 30 minutes before the doors opened so we can get that free charcuterie boards. And I liked the effort they put into the event with the setup and the little details like the rat on one of the hosts\u2019 shoulder and him wearing an apron and chef hat.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
When the screens turned off and the lights turned back on, students who were big fans of the movie started reciting the films dialogue and everyone talked about their favorite parts of the movie.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Mirari Canales-Martinez, a visitor from Our Lady of the Lake University, said she had fun and appreciated the aesthetics of the event.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe food made me feel like I was actually in Paris,\u201d Canales-Martinez said. \u201cIt brought me back to my childhood, and it made me feel like a little kid again.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
CAB event coordinators said the event was a great way to unwind before finals and have a peaceful movie night with friends, great food and good vibes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
