\n\tThe key cast for drama series \u201cHamburg Days,\u201d about The Beatles<\/a>\u2019 early days in the German city, has been revealed as the six-parter started filming in Hamburg, Munich and Liverpool.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe series stars Rhys Mannion (\u201cIt Is in Us All,\u201d \u201cFreud\u2019s Last Session\u201d) as John Lennon, Liverpudlian singer\/songwriter Ellis Murphy as Paul McCartney, newcomer Harvey Brett as George Harrison, Louis Landau (\u201cRivals,\u201d \u201cKennedy\u201d) as Stu Sutcliffe, newcomer Patrick Gilmore as Pete Best, Luna Jordan (\u201cWild Republic,\u201d \u201cSleeping Dog\u201d) as Astrid Kirchherr, Casper von B\u00fclow (\u201cDruck,\u201d \u201cWann wird es endlich wieder so, wie es nie war\u201d) as Klaus Voorman, Laura Tonke (\u201c22 Lengths,\u201d \u201cAmrum\u201d) as Nielsa Kirchherr, Trystan P\u00fctter (\u201cKu\u2019damm 56\u201d), and Max von der Groeben (\u201cFack Ju G\u00f6hte\u201d).<\/p>\n

\n\tThe show is created by showrunner Christian Schwochow<\/a>, whose credits include \u201cThe Crown\u201d and \u201cMunich \u2013 The Edge of War,\u201d and head writer Jamie Carragher, who previously worked on \u201cSuccession.\u201d The story is inspired by German artist Klaus Voormann\u2019s autobiography.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHamburg Days\u201d is set in the 1960s in the smoke-filled clubs of Hamburg\u2019s St. Pauli red-light district, where an inexperienced young rock \u2018n\u2019 roll band from Liverpool collide with two young artists, Klaus Voormann and Astrid Kirchherr. Together they help spark a transformation that turns a scrappy group of teenagers into the greatest music phenomenon the world has ever known.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe music is being curated by music producer and BAFTA-winner David Holmes (\u201cKilling Eve,\u201d \u201cOcean\u2019s\u201d franchise).<\/p>\n

\n\tThe series is produced by W&B Television and Turbine Studios, with co-financiers AGC Television and German broadcaster ZDF. The BBC have acquired it for BBC iPlayer and BBC One.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe series was developed by Benjamin Benedict (\u201cGeneration War\u201d). Schwochow is directing, alongside Laura Lackmann (\u201cCall My Agent Berlin,\u201d \u201cThe Pimp: No F***Ing Fairytale\u201d). Frank Lamm (\u201cAndor,\u201d \u201cThe Crown\u201d) is director of photography. Klaus Voormann is an exclusive consultant to the show.<\/p>\n

\n\tCarragher and Schwochow are executive producers alongside Benedict, Quirin Berg and Max Wiedemann of W&B Television, Andrew Eaton and Justin Thomson of Turbine Studios, and AGC\u2019s Stuart Ford, Lourdes Diaz and Miguel A. Palos Jr. Isabel Haug of W&B Television and Katharina Haase serve as producers. At ZDF, the project is overseen by Alexandra Staib, Caroline von Senden and Sandra Dettki.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt is being produced with the support of the German Motion Picture Fund (GMPF), MOIN Filmf\u00f6rderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, FilmFernsehFonds Bayern and Medienboard Berlin Brandenburg.<\/p>\n
