{"id":78120,"date":"2025-07-20T13:48:15","date_gmt":"2025-07-20T13:48:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/78120\/"},"modified":"2025-07-20T13:48:15","modified_gmt":"2025-07-20T13:48:15","slug":"sleeping-prince-of-saudi-arabia-al-waleed-bin-khalid-al-saud-dead-after-20-year-coma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/78120\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Sleeping Prince\u2019 of Saudi Arabia Al-Waleed bin Khalid Al-Saud dead after 20-year coma"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Saudi Arabian royal who spent more than two decades in a coma after a horror car crash in London has died at the age of 36.<\/p>\n<p>Prince Al-Waleed bin Khalid Al-Saud suffered a brain haemorrhage and internal bleeding in the horrific accident in 2005, when he was just 15 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Widely known as the \u201cSleeping Prince\u201d, he was kept on a ventilator in hospital \u2013 but never regained full consciousness.<\/p>\n<p>Prince Al-Waleed was the eldest son of Prince Khaled bin Talal Al Saud, who confirmed his death in a heartbreaking post on X today.<\/p>\n<p>Quoting a verse from the Quran, he wrote: \u201cWith hearts believing in Allah\u2019s will and decree, and with deep sorrow and sadness, we mourn our beloved son: Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may Allah have mercy on him, who passed away today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prince Al-Waleed bin Khalid Al-Saud died at the age of 36. News.com.au<\/p>\n<p>The prince had been in a coma since 2005. News.com.au<\/p>\n<p>Prince Al-Waleed was studying at a military college in London when he was involved in the devastating car crash.<\/p>\n<p>After the accident, he was hospitalized at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Saudi Arabia\u2019s capital Riyadh, where he remained in a coma ever since.<\/p>\n<p>Prince Al-Waleed\u2019s father never gave up hope that his son would one day make a full recovery.<\/p>\n<p>He remained involved in the prince\u2019s care and firmly rejected calls to withdraw life support.<\/p>\n<p>The hashtag \u201cSleeping Prince\u201d has widely trended on social media following the announcement, with thousands offering their condolences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMay Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled, Rest In Peace. Deepest sympathies to his loved ones,\u201d one wrote.<\/p>\n<p>The prince suffered a brain haemorrhage and internal bleeding after a car crash when he was 15 years old. News.com.au<\/p>\n<p>Prince Al-Waleed\u2019s father always hoped his son would make a full recovery.
