He is worth about $14.5 billion, according to Forbes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tKhosla didn\u2019t immediately respond to an email seeking comment. A rep for Allen &amp; Company, which was retained to handle the sale, declined to comment. A representative for the Seahawks said in an email Wednesday night there was \u201cno news to share\u201d about the process.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSportico <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportico.com\/business\/team-sales\/2026\/seattle-seahawks-sale-bid-aditya-mittal-wyc-grousbeck-1234892136\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">also repor<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportico.com\/business\/team-sales\/2026\/seattle-seahawks-sale-bid-aditya-mittal-wyc-grousbeck-1234892136\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ted<\/a> Thursday that Indian steel magnate Aditya Mittal and former Boston Celtics control owner Wyc Grousbeck were teaming up for a bid. The Seahawks are worth\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportico.com\/feature\/nfl-team-values-ranking-list-1234684165\/\">$6.59 billion<\/a>, according to\u00a0Sportico, but the team is expected to sell for quite a bit more.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportico.com\/feature\/nfl-team-values-ranking-list-1234684165\/\" class=\"c-lazy-image__link lrv-a-unstyle-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sportico.com\/wp-content\/themes\/vip\/pmc-sportico-2020\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.gif\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Seahawks-card-CMS-Feb-2026.png\" alt=\"\" data-lazy- data-lazy- height=\"512\" width=\"1024\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tKhosla was one of a handful of local investors who bought into the 49ers last year at a valuation higher than <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportico.com\/business\/team-sales\/2025\/49ers-stake-sale-record-billion-khosla-griffith-deeter-1234852610\/\">$8.5 billion<\/a>. Sportico reported then that Khosla bought the biggest stake of the trio, though the specifics were not available.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIt\u2019s become common for new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportico.com\/t\/nfl\/\" id=\"auto-tag_nfl_1\" data-tag=\"nfl\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NFL<\/a> owners to be existing LPs in other franchises, a process that gives them familiarity with the league\u2014and vice versa. Billionaire David Tepper, who bought the Carolina Panthers in 2018, was a minority owner in the Pittsburgh Steelers. So was Josh Harris, who bought the Washington Commanders in 2023. Harris\u2019 Commanders group included longtime business partner David Blitzer, who was yet another Steelers LP. If successful with his bid to buy the Seahawks, Khosla would need to sell his 49ers equity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tKhosla was born in India and came to the U.S. in his early 20s. He earned an MBA from Stanford and co-founded Sun Microsystems in 1982, serving as the tech company\u2019s first CEO. His VC career started at Kleiner Perkins, and he launched Khosla Ventures in 2004. His firm\u2019s notable exits include Affirm, Opendoor and DoorDash, all of which went public.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sportico.com\/wp-content\/themes\/vip\/pmc-sportico-2020\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.gif\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Z6A8l-nfl-rules-for-new-team-buyers-.png\" alt=\"\" data-lazy- data-lazy- height=\"573\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tNew NFL owners are heavily restricted in how their financing can come together. There is a $1.5 billion debt limit, and the control owner must hold a minimum of 30% of the equity. Institutional funds can own 10%, and the total group cannot exceed 24 minority owners.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe Seahawks are being sold by the estate of late owner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportico.com\/t\/paul-allen\/\" id=\"auto-tag_paul-allen_1\" data-tag=\"paul-allen\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Paul Allen<\/a>, who died in 2018. Allen\u2019s will called for his sports assets, which included the Seahawks and the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportico.com\/t\/nba\/\">NBA<\/a>\u2018s Portland Trail Blazers, to be sold to benefit charitable causes. His sister <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportico.com\/t\/jody-allen\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jody-allen_1\" data-tag=\"jody-allen\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jody Allen<\/a>, the executor of his will and trust, has run the teams in his absence.
