SAN ANTONIO – A teenage boy was injured Thursday when a hit-and-run driver plowed through a group of students in the Pieper High School parking lot Thursday.<\/p>\n
According to the victim\u2019s mother, the incident occurred as a group of approximately 10 boys were gathered by their vehicles passing around donuts before the start of the school day. She stated an adult man in a “very large truck” drove up to the group, honked, and then accelerated through them.<\/p>\n
The truck struck the teen\u2019s body and legs. The impact was forceful enough to knock the teenager out of his shoe and run over his foot.<\/p>\n
“He gave them no time to get out of the way,” the mother told us. “The driver did not stop to see what kind of harm he had caused or to get help.”<\/p>\n
The teen victim suffered a severely swollen left foot and “tire rash” along the back of both legs. While no bones were broken, the injury could keep him from the upcoming spring football game.<\/p>\n
Witnesses and the victim have identified the alleged driver. While the school reportedly has video surveillance of the entire incident, the footage cannot be released to the family.<\/p>\n
“I\u2019m shocked that someone could have such blatant disregard for kids,” the mother said.<\/p>\n
