{"id":782560,"date":"2026-05-08T19:01:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T19:01:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/782560\/"},"modified":"2026-05-08T19:01:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T19:01:13","slug":"recall-effort-launched-in-scottsdale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/782560\/","title":{"rendered":"Recall effort launched in Scottsdale |"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">Councilwoman Jan Dubauskas cruised to victory two years ago \u2013 as the only City Council representative winning enough votes in the primary to take office.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Now, she faces a potential recall.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cJan poses a clear threat to Scottsdale\u2019s future and therefore must be recalled,\u201d the Dan Ishac-authored petition demands.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The first-term councilwoman said the recall effort was launched \u201cby a failed, former Democratic council candidate, Dan Ishac.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt\u2019s pretty obvious that this is a partisan ploy by a failed Democratic council candidate who was in the pocket of bars and developers and who wants to kick a reliable conservative vote off the Council,\u201d Dubauskas countered.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">She added she is \u201cproud of my record of effective leadership \u2013 from reducing residents\u2019 property taxes, eliminating DEI and reversing Scottsdale\u2019s Green New Deal to investing in road improvements, ending road diets, and investing in Old Town.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ishac called the response \u201cmore lies\u201d from Dubauskas.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI have never been a registered Democratic,\u201d he added. \u201cI was a GOP state and precinct committeeman (LD 23) for several years and left the party given the fighting within it.
