According to the board, wolf populations continue to move into the area, raising concerns for residents, ranchers, and families recreating outdoors.<\/p>\n<p>Recent maps from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife do not show any pack based in Trinity County. However, wolves from nearby areas such as the Whaleback Pack in Siskiyou County are known to disperse and move through the region.<\/p>\n<p>The board is urging residents in rural areas to secure livestock, working dogs, and pets, especially from dusk until dawn. People hiking, hunting, or camping in the backcountry should remain aware of their surroundings.<\/p>\n<p>Residents are asked to report any wolf sightings or suspected livestock depredation directly to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife by emailing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsnow.com\/news\/trinity-county-issues-alert-as-wolves-expand-into-region\/mailto:californiawolfsightings@wildlife.ca.gov\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">californiawolfsightings@wildlife.ca.gov<\/a>.
