{"id":78268,"date":"2025-07-20T15:08:12","date_gmt":"2025-07-20T15:08:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/78268\/"},"modified":"2025-07-20T15:08:12","modified_gmt":"2025-07-20T15:08:12","slug":"suspected-impaired-crash-in-whitby-sends-6-to-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/78268\/","title":{"rendered":"Suspected impaired crash in Whitby sends 6 to hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police responded to a a crash near between a Jeep Wrangler Honda SUV near Taunton Road West and Cochrane Street. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A 39-year-old Oshawa man is suffering with life-threatening injuries after a suspected impaired driving collision in Whitby late Saturday night. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drps.ca\/news\/man-in-life-threatening-condition-after-serious-crash-in-whitby\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.drps.ca\/news\/man-in-life-threatening-condition-after-serious-crash-in-whitby\/\">news release issued Sunday<\/a>, Durham police say officers were called to Taunton Road West and Cochrane Street at around 11:10 p.m. for reports of a two-vehicle crash.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/VJ4KLUYPWNAJRNRDVZP6CGKNFQ.png\"  width=\"800\" height=\"449\"\/>CRASH A white Jeep Wrangler is seen following a serious collision in Whitby on Saturday July 20, 2025 (CP24 photo). <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Investigators allege a white Jeep Wrangler travelling eastbound collided with a black Honda SUV that was turning south onto Cochrane Street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Five people in the Jeep, including the 39-year-old who was rushed to a Toronto trauma centre, were taken to hospital. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police say driver of the Honda was transported to a local area hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/JAVQNHOR7RG6NLTBAM7N5VGTPU.png\"  width=\"800\" height=\"449\"\/>crash A black Honda SUV is seen following a serious collision in Whitby on Saturday July 20, 2025 (CP24 photo). <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Durham\u2019s Collision Investigation Unit closed the road for several hours to collect evidence.
