1. Desperados now offers Tex-Mex cuisine in Plano<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Plano location for the Dallas-based restaurant Desperados opened in April.<\/p>\n

Desperados serves a variety of tacos, from shrimp and fish to brisket and grilled beef. Other dishes include flautas, chile relleno and enchiladas according to its menu. Some of its desserts include flan and its cuatro leches cake made in-house.<\/p>\n

2. Summer Moon Coffee eyes Prosper for new location<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Summer Moon Coffee plans to open a new location in Prosper this year, a representative of the business confirmed.<\/p>\n

The Texas-based chain serves coffee roasted in-house, according to the company\u2019s website. Summer Moon\u2019s menu features drinks made with Moon Milk, the cafe\u2019s signature sweet cream.<\/p>\n

3. Omaha Steaks to sell protein, sides in Grapevine<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Nebraska-based Omaha Steaks plans to open a store in Grapevine. The store will sell the company\u2019s flash-frozen foods, including individually portioned steaks, chicken, seafood, burgers and pork. Customers can also purchase a selection of appetizers, sides and desserts.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we grow our store network and expand our fulfillment capabilities, we\u2019re creating a faster, more convenient way for customers to access our premium proteins,\u201d said Nate Rempe, president & CEO of Omaha Steaks, in an email.<\/p>\n

4. Coal Vines Pizza and Wine Bar creates guest experience with ‘concierge level of service,’ entertainment<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

Coal Vines Pizza and Wine Bar in Southlake seeks to create an experience for guests through its coal-fired pizza, wine selection, unique cocktails and nights with live opera performances, owner Darren Wick said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s that concierge level of service that we’re trying to go for here,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Coal Vines hosted its first special ticketed event at the end of March, where guests saw a live opera performance paired with six courses and six wines, Wick said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot only did we pair the food with the wine but with the song as well,\u201d he said. \u201cIt took a long time to work out how to pair all three of those together, and it was a hit.\u201d<\/p>\n

5. King Kups serves elote, carne asada fries, more at McKinney food truck<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Retired DJ Frank Hernandez said Dallas nightlife inspired him to open King Kups.<\/p>\n

He noticed people frequently ended a night out at a local taco spot and he wanted to bring that fun atmosphere to McKinney with a food truck. Hernandez and his daughter Ariel Hernandez opened King Kups in 2018, primarily selling elote cups, and the menu has since expanded to include carne asada fries, churros, tacos and more.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt turned from a passion project to an actual business without losing the passion along the way,\u201d Hernandez said.<\/p>\n
