Senior Maddi Santini — playing in her home state of Colorado for the first time in her college career — got one back to keep the ‘Phins in the fight.

Despite trailing 4-1 after the first, Jacksonville rallied with a flourish. It came from the stick of Hagans, who scored 33 seconds into the second quarter. After the Buffaloes scored, Hagans found junior Maeve Brennan who finished with a jumper on the crease for another JU tally.

Colorado scored again, but Hagans answered as Jacksonville inched closer in the second quarter, trailing 6-4 in the second quarter.

The momentum reached its zenith in the second half. Hagans scored another early goal to pull JU within one, then she handled a pass on the crease and potted a goal to put the Dolphins level.

Shae Hagans ties it up ??

??:https://t.co/ELrEn1kcit#JUPhinsUp X #LacrosseCapitaloftheSouth pic.twitter.com/jwLKgOS9hv

— Jacksonville Women’s Lacrosse (@JAX_WLAX) May 8, 2026

Junior Julia Nicholson put one in the back of the net, giving Jacksonville its first lead of the day.

PHINS. I’m happy to have these two next to me. I think they’ve led the charge in a number of ways, and that’s what I’m most proud of.”

On what Jacksonville has meant

Moran: Everything, I mean so much has happened in these past four years. We started our freshman year heading to the NCAA Tournament and it was awesome. We looked up to our seniors then, and that’s all we wanted to do is bring that right back. Unfortunately we couldn’t these past two years but making back here this year meant everything to us. I’m happy that we made it this far, and I wish we could have gone farther, but this means a lot.C

Cuddy: Bringing the trophy back home, and just being able to show the nation and the rest of the girls on the team who haven’t experienced the ASUN win and then coming to the NCAA tournament, I think that’s huge, not only being seniors but for the whole program moving forward for the next couple years. When we committed here and then our freshman year, we had really great role models and great mentors, so that was just what we wanted to do, just leave a good legacy and leave something to remember. And I think that’s what we did today.

BOULDER, Colo. — A historic season for the Jacksonville Dolphins came to an end…

[5136
5229,3188,723,7310,67,586,132,5230,68,2969
0":"post-784536","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-jacksonville","8":"tag-america","9":"tag-fl","10":"tag-florida","11":"tag-jacksonville","12":"tag-united-states","13":"tag-united-states-of-america","14":"tag-unitedstates","15":"tag-unitedstatesofamerica","16":"tag-us","17":"tag-usa
["GET
