{"id":785108,"date":"2026-05-09T21:23:15","date_gmt":"2026-05-09T21:23:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/785108\/"},"modified":"2026-05-09T21:23:15","modified_gmt":"2026-05-09T21:23:15","slug":"longtime-rangers-goalie-coach-benoit-allaire-retires","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/785108\/","title":{"rendered":"Longtime Rangers goalie coach Benoit Allaire retires"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Rangers\u2019 goaltending guru is hanging up his skates.<\/p>\n<p>Benoit Allaire, who <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/11\/12\/sports\/how-rangers-pulled-off-transition-from-goalie-coach-legend\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">worked for the Blueshirts as a goaltending coach from 2004-2024<\/a> before <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/06\/02\/sports\/rangers-goalie-guru-benoit-allaire-scaling-back-coaching-duties\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">scaling back his workload<\/a> and transitioning to their director of goaltending over the last couple seasons, will retire, the Rangers announced in a statement Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBenoit Allaire\u2019s contributions to the Rangers over the past two decades have been immeasurable,\u201d general manager <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NYRangers\/status\/2053185882757210262?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Chris Drury said in a statement released on X<\/a>. \u201cWhether it was teaching a Hall of Famer or a rookie just starting his career, Benny made everyone he worked with better. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn behalf of everyone in the Rangers organization, we wish him and his wife, Lyne, all the best in retirement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.42618384;display:block\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"39331943\" width=\"841\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/GettyImages-450187860.jpg\" alt=\" Assistant Coach Benoit Allaire and Jesper Fast #12 mess around during a practice session on an off day during the 2014 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs at Staples Center on June 6, 2014 in Los Angeles, California.  \" class=\"wp-image-39331943\"  \/>Benoit Allaire and Jesper Fast mess around during a practice session on an off day during the 2014 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs at Staples Center on June 6, 2014 in Los Angeles, California.
