Bobby Cox, the legendary Atlanta Braves manager and Hall of Famer, has died, the MLB team announced on Saturday. He was 84.<\/p>\n

\u201cBobby was a favorite among all in the baseball community, especially those who played for him,\u201d the team wrote in a post on X. \u201cHis wealth of knowledge on player development and the intricacies of managing the game were rewarded with the sport\u2019s ultimate prize in 2014 \u2014 enshrinement into the Baseball Hall of Fame.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd while Bobby\u2019s passion for the game was unparalleled, his love of baseball was exceeded only by his love for his family,\u201d the team added. \u201cIt is with the heaviest of hearts that we send our sincerest condolences to his beloved wife, Pam, and their loving children and grandchildren.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cox led the Braves to 14 consecutive division titles from 1991 to 2005, including five National League pennants and the 1995 World Series title. He led the team for 25 seasons in total. <\/p>\n
Cox also managed the Blue Jays for four years, including the franchise\u2019s first winning record in 1983 and first division title in 1985, according to the MLB. <\/p>\n
The MLB acknowledged Cox\u2019s death, posting a picture of him on X <\/a>with a long list of his accomplishments.<\/p>\n In total, Cox won 2,401 games as a manager, behind only Connie Mack, Tony La Russa and John McGraw, according to the MLB. Of the 13 managers with at least 2,000 career wins, Joe McCarthy was the sole manage to get there in less games than Cox, according to the MLB.<\/p>\n
