A man who was shot to death in the Florence-Firestone community of unincorporated Los Angeles County was publicly identified, authorities said Saturday.<\/p>\n
The 35-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Amtrojosimar Barrios by the Medical Examiner\u2019s office, which said he died from a gunshot wound of the torso.<\/p>\n
The shooting was reported at 1:57 a.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of Firestone Boulevard, just east of Compton Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff\u2019s Department.<\/p>\n
The department said two victims were shot while standing in the parking lot of a strip mall. A third victim, a security guard who was working down the street from the location, was struck by a stray round and was not the intended target, authorities added.<\/p>\n
The security guard, 27, was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, and a 25-year-old man was taken to a hospital with stable vital signs, according to sheriff\u2019s officials.<\/p>\n
No vehicle or suspect information was immediately available. Anyone with information about the shooting was urged to contact the sheriff\u2019s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
