Pat McAfee has opened up Pandora\u2019s box at ESPN regarding what people can say on the air<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Others at the network are losing their filters as well.<\/p>\n

Host Elle Duncan had a unique way of describing the lack of defense in the WNBA All-Star Game Saturday night on ABC.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope it gets a little bit more competitive. Because like a girls\u2019 trip to Cancun, right now, there\u2019s no D,’\u201d Duncan said during the halftime show as Napheesa Collier\u2019s team led Caitlin Clark\u2019s team 82-60.<\/p>\n

\u201cElle, you\u2019re in timeout. You\u2019re done,\u201d ESPN analyst Chiney Ogwumike quipped as the broadcast then cut to commercial.<\/p>\n

Duncan\u2019s joke drew mixed reactions on social media, with some finding it amusing and others criticizing her, ESPN and the WNBA.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Why don\u2019t people want to watch the WNBA,’\u201d one X user wrote in response to Awful Announcing\u2019s clip.<\/p>\n

\u201cAdd this to a long list of why no one takes @WNBA or @espn seriously,\u201d wrote another.<\/p>\n

Another user brought up comedian Shane Gillis in the wake of his polarizing performance at the ESPYs<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Shane Gillis said that, they\u2019d try to cancel him,\u201d that person wrote.<\/p>\n

Defense remained optional in the second half as Collier\u2019s team won the All-Star Game 151-131.<\/p>\n

Collier dropped 36 points on 13-for-16 shooting in just 19 minutes.<\/p>\n

Clark did not play in the game in Indianapolis after suffering a groin injury during a Fever game against the Sun on Tuesday that forced her out of a loss to the Liberty on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
