Storms are in the FOX 4 viewing area on Friday night, and chief meteorologist Dan Henry has more on what to expect this evening in this forecast for May 8 in North Texas.<\/p>\n

DALLAS<\/strong> – Thunderstorms will roll through parts of North Texas on Friday. Thankfully, none should be severe. Mother’s Day could be a different story.<\/p>\n

10:30: Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Montague County until 11:30 p.m. 9:05: Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued for North Texas counties \"\" <\/p>\n

A line of storms moving southward has caused the National Weather Service to issue a Severe Thunderstarm Watch for several North Texas counties.<\/p>\n

Counties affected include Denton County, Collin County, Wise County, Hunt County, Delta County, Hopkins County, Jack County, Cooke County, Lamar County and Fannin County.<\/p>\n

The Watch is set to run until 2 a.m. on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Friday Forecast \"\" <\/p>\n

According to FOX 4 Weather Meteorologist Berkeley Taylor, a cluster of thunderstorms will work their way east across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex on Friday morning.<\/p>\n

Everything is well below severe limits, just with lots of lightning!\u00a0<\/p>\n

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will move in and out through the day on Friday. Coverage is about 20%.<\/p>\n

An isolated strong storm or two can’t be ruled out, but the overall threat is low.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Temperatures will be in the 50s and 60s for the morning, before climbing into the 80s by the afternoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Weekend Forecast \"\" <\/p>\n

Saturday will look similar, with even lower coverage expected.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sunday presents the best chance to find rain and storms \u2013 about 50% as a cold front moves through North Texas.\u00a0<\/p>\n

North Texas is under a Level 2 out of 5 risk for severe weather. The biggest concerns will be with wind and hail.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Timing-wise, the front looks to move through in the afternoon\/evening.\u00a0<\/p>\n

7-Day Forecast \"\" <\/p>\n

Once the front is south of North Texas on Mother\u2019s Day, the rain should come to an end, and it will stay dry into next week.<\/p>\n

Temperatures will start to warm into the upper 80s and low 90s by midweek next week.<\/p>\n
