However, her cooking first sparked local admiration at her flagship business, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.haosgrocerycafe.com\/\">Hao\u2019s Grocery and Cafe,<\/a> in Fort Worth\u2019s Near Southside neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p>When the Star-Telegram last spoke to Tran in February, she was unsure of what the future would look like for Hao\u2019s Grocery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe funny thing is everything just kind of happens organically,\u201d Tran told the Star-Telegram.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily, market devotees do not have to say goodbye to the South Main grocery store. Hao\u2019s Grocery and Cafe will start to operate as a full-service tea shop and deli starting July 1.<\/p>\n<p>Cho Ke, AKA \u201cChoke,\u201d founder of <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/arteteaco.com\/\">Arte Tea Co.<\/a>, will serve teas throughout the day and conduct tasting events in addition to selling loose-leaf teas. Chef Luu Lac, founder of <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/itsfood.lol\/\">It\u2019s Food<\/a>, will sell his plant-based dumplings and Vietnamese banh mi in the deli portion. He will also serve as Chef de Cuisine at Duong DeVille.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChoke has always wanted a tea shop,\u201d Tran said. \u201cAnd of course we [Hao\u2019s Grocery] want to offer Luu\u2019s food. Courtesy photo by Hao Tran                                                                                        Hao\u2019s Grocery and Cafe updates<\/p>\n<p>Choke operated Arte Tea Co. as a pop-up around Fort Worth for many years, with \u201cCommuniTea\u201d every Thursday from 9 p.m. to midnight at Hao\u2019s Grocery. Now, her tea will be offered daily at Hao\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Tran calls Choke a \u201ctea sommelier\u201d of sorts, since she has traveled extensively through Asia to learn about and source the tea she sells.  She will also put on more CommuniTea nights, meditation classes and events.<\/p>\n<p>The deli will consist of meals from Duong DeVille, along with plant-based options from It\u2019s Food, including  Tran\u2019s famous dumplings and Vietnamese banh mi.<\/p>\n<p>After these concepts launch on July 1, Tran and her team may look into opening up the store on Tuesday and Wednesdays as well as offering an Asian Sunday brunch. Courtesy photo by Hao Tran                                                                                        <\/p>\n<p>Hao\u2019s Grocery <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.haosgrocerycafe.com\/events\">offers many community events<\/a>, but one that stands out  is its monthly \u201c<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.haosgrocerycafe.com\/register\">family meal<\/a>.\u201d Around every fourth Monday of the month, Hao cooks up a family-style table meal. Sometimes it\u2019s Italian, sometimes it\u2019s her classic Vietnamese cooking.<\/p>\n<p>The ingredients for family meals are from the previous day\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mealswithmeaning.net\/\">Meals with<\/a> <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mealswithmeaning.net\/\">Meaning<\/a> donation boxes. Hao Tran                                                                            Courtesy photo from Hao Tran                                                                                        When will Duong DeVille open?<\/p>\n<p>The highly anticipated <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=61571220251989\">Duong DeVille<\/a> has plans to open late this summer. The exact date is in limbo.<\/p>\n<p>However, there is a way to get a foretaste of the menu. The <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mealswithmeaning.net\/events\/supper-club\">Meals with Meaning supper club<\/a> is putting on a seven-course dinner on June 7 exclusively featuring Duong DeVille beef dishes.<\/p>\n<p>Tran also gave a menu sneak peek at her most recent family meal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe served tamarind, hot and sour soup. Braised pork and egg. Green mango salad with greens from <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conundrumfarms.com\/\">Conundrum Farms<\/a>,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd a dessert which was red bean and coconut cream.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kitchen equipment at Duong DeVille is going in this week.
