Sitting on the corner with North Ada Street, the boxy tower has been in development for a few years now and most recently <a href=\"https:\/\/chicagoyimby.com\/2026\/02\/plan-commission-approves-1338-west-lake-street-in-west-loop.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">received approval<\/a> from the Plan Commission after some redesigns.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/1338-W-Lake-St-04-1024x578.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"578\" class=\"size-large wp-image-41710\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Site context of 1338 W Lake Street by SCB<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/1338-W-Lake-06-1024x904.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"904\" class=\"size-large wp-image-88099\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Renderings of 1338 W Lake St by SCB<\/p>\n<p>The existing 22,300-square-foot site is being developed by Cedar Street Companies, along with local architecture firm SCB working on its design. The 32-story project would be anchored by a six-story podium abutting the CTA tracks to the south. This would contain 7,800 square feet of commercial space along Lake, as well as a large lobby along Ada.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/1338-W-Lake-04-1024x863.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"863\" class=\"size-large wp-image-88101\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Floor plans of 1338 W Lake St by SCB<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the podium will hold a 191-space parking garage with a row of liner units along Ada in order to activate the street front. The podium would be capped by a large amenity deck serving the 321 residential units within the project. The $165 million project is now one approval away from being able to apply for permits.
