Photo courtesy of FOX.<\/p>\n<p>Guterman says the idea to apply didn\u2019t come out of nowhere, it was encouragement from people closest to her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy best friend has watched every show and she loves it,\u201d Guterman said. \u201cMy boss actually sent me the casting link and said, \u2018I think you should try this out.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The casting process took about six months, and Guterman kept it mostly under wraps until she knew she was heading to the show.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I finally told my mom and sister, they were shocked,\u201d she said. \u201cBut not shocked that I\u2019d go on a reality show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Once filming began, Guterman says the experience quickly became immersive and a little surreal.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Eagle woman competes for love on Farmer Wants a Wife. Photo courtesy of FOX.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I flew out to Nashville, I had no idea who I was going to be with,\u201d she said. \u201cI didn\u2019t even know his name until day one of filming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite the uncertainty, she says producers made the transition feel natural, especially as contestants got to know one another.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou show up, meet all the girls, and you\u2019re trying to figure out \u2014 are we dating the same guy?\u201d she said. \u201cBut we got really close.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Without phones or outside distractions, Guterman says relationships formed quickly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe did puzzles, word searches, went on walks, just explored the land,\u201d she said. \u201cYou really get to know each other, and we had so much fun.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Guterman, who grew up in a farming town, says she felt comfortable with the rural lifestyle featured on the show.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNothing was really hard on the farm for me,\u201d she said. \u201cI grew up around animals and manual labor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She says one of the most meaningful parts of the experience was seeing the farmers in their own element.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was really cool being on someone else\u2019s property and seeing how much it meant to them,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Still, the emotional intensity of the show stood out as the biggest challenge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re so in it.
