Some of these storms could be strong to severe.

The cold front is currently way up in North Texas to the Panhandle. Ahead of this front, high humidity and temperatures punching up to around 90 or so in our region priming the atmosphere for some stronger storms.

Tracking cold front heading south across Texas

The Storm Prediction Center has maintained their severe storm outlook with San Antonio in the level 2 of 5 outlook. The higher level 3 of 5 outlook remains just to our north and the rest of the area to the south is in the level 1 of 5 outlook.

Severe storm outlook from SPC

The primary hazard will be strong wind gusts in clusters or any lines of storms. The secondary hazard is hail. Typically storms in a line or clusters become more wind dominant over large hail but some hail cannot be rule out in the strongest of storms we could see.

Areas further north out of our area have an even higher risk of strong winds and large hail for those traveling north out of our area later today.

The window to watch in our region will be 8pm – 1am in and around San Antonio and just a little earlier up in our northern tier counties where a storm could push in before 8pm. After 1am, activity will move south and out of our area ushering in lower humidity and a little cooler of a day Monday.

Future radar after midnight

Comment with Bubbles

BE THE FIRST TO COMMENT

Total rainfall will range from as little as .10″ in areas that miss heavier downpours to easily over 1″ of rain if you see a heavier downpour from a passing storm.

SAN ANTONIO – A sunny, hot Mother’s Day is underway but the day will likely finish with showers…

[5133
5229,7202,7203,358,3187,67,586,132,5230,68,2969
0":"post-786890","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-san-antonio","8":"tag-america","9":"tag-san-antonio","10":"tag-sanantonio","11":"tag-texas","12":"tag-tx","13":"tag-united-states","14":"tag-united-states-of-america","15":"tag-unitedstates","16":"tag-unitedstatesofamerica","17":"tag-us","18":"tag-usa
["GET
