The Knicks didn’t want to go back home for a Game 5. And they played like it.<\/p>\n
After the Sixers scored the first two points of the afternoon, the Knicks never trailed. They beat the Sixers in dominant fashion, 144-114, in front of a blue-and-orange clad crowd that made the two-hour trip from New York en masse. Their 144 points were the most in franchise playoff history, and their 25 3s tied an NBA postseason record..<\/p>\n
Deuce McBride, starting in place of the injured OG Anunoby, led the Knicks with 25 points on a ridiculous 7-for-9 mark from 3-point range. Jalen Brunson had 22 while Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart had 17 apiece, with Towns also contributing 10 assists.<\/p>\n
As a team, the Knicks shot the lights out. They were 57 percent from 3, 54 percent from the field and those numbers were all higher before they pulled their starters late in the third.<\/p>\n
Joel Embiid led Philadelphia with 24 points, but the Sixers never looked competitive. They shot terribly from 3-point range (23 percent) and simply didn’t look like they belonged on the same court as the Knicks.<\/p>\n
New York should have some time to rest now. The Knicks will await the winner of the Detroit-Cleveland series, in which the Pistons currently lead 2-1, to find out their conference final opponent.<\/p>\n
