Samsung\u2019s<\/a> purported Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide<\/a> is still months away from its expected debut, but the phone\u2019s case makers apparently couldn\u2019t wait.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Earlier today, trusted tipster Ice Universe (on X) posted pictures of third-party protective cases for the Fold 8 Wide, which are already listed on Alibaba (a Chinese e-commerce platform).<\/p>\n

What do the leaked case pictures tell us about the design?<\/p>\n

For the uninitiated, case makers only receive a phone\u2019s exact dimensions and design blueprints once the hardware is finalized. This is why early case listings are important, as they showcase the production-ready design.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In this case, we\u2019re looking at not one but four different pictures, giving us a good look at the phone from different angles. For instance, there\u2019s a vertical, pill-shaped cutout at the top-left corner of the back panel, corroborating previous reports about the presence of a dual camera setup.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The opposite half of the rear portion, for the secondary screen, only covers the bezels, which aren\u2019t as thin as a top-tier slab phone in 2026, but more like the inner bezels of the Fold 7<\/a>. When folded shut, the right edge carries a precise cutout for the power button, which may double as a fingerprint scanner.\u00a0<\/p>\n

What else do we know?<\/p>\n

The cover screen seems to have speaker vents at the top and bottom, while the other half has two microphones at the top and a USB-C port at the bottom.\u00a0<\/p>\n

What\u2019s immediately obvious is that the phone is significantly wider than any other book-style foldable<\/a> Samsung has ever sold, both when folded and unfolded. The inner display is expected to open to a 4:3 aspect ratio, which is closer to a tablet screen than a phone, promising a better content viewing experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Previous reports suggest the Fold 8 Wide could run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, One UI 9.0 based on Android 17, and include new Galaxy AI<\/a> features.
