{"id":787856,"date":"2026-05-11T02:51:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-11T02:51:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/787856\/"},"modified":"2026-05-11T02:51:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T02:51:13","slug":"restaurant-owner-calls-for-safety-improvements-after-car-crashes-into-fence-on-san-antonios-east-side","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/787856\/","title":{"rendered":"Restaurant owner calls for safety improvements after car crashes into fence on San Antonio\u2019s east side"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mark Outing, owner of Mark&#8217;s Outing, said he arrived at the restaurant Saturday morning to find the fence destroyed.<\/p>\n<p>SAN ANTONIO \u2014 The owner of a longtime east-side restaurant is calling for safety improvements at a busy intersection after a vehicle crashed into his property over the weekend, damaging a fence outside the business.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Outing, owner of Mark&#8217;s Outing, said he arrived at the restaurant Saturday morning to find the fence destroyed following an overnight crash near the intersection of East Commerce Street and North Pine Street.<\/p>\n<p>                                        &#13;<br \/>\n                                            <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kens5.com\/assets\/shared-images\/icons\/arrow-circle-down.svg\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>                                        &#13;<br \/>\n                                            This story continues below.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was pretty alarming to me and concerning,\u201d Outing said.<\/p>\n<p>Outing said a woman later approached him and told him her son had been a passenger in the vehicle involved in the crash. According to Outing, the woman shared a photo showing the car after it struck the fence.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant owner said the incident is one of several crashes he has witnessed in the area over the years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI actually seen a guy and his lady literally killed in this area, right in the front right here from accidents,\u201d Outing said. \u201cIt\u2019s alarming that nothing\u2019s being done about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Outing said he has operated the restaurant for more than 20 years and has repeatedly advocated for traffic safety improvements at the intersection.
