Its opening guest list, at the Florence Gould Theater, was possibly determined by how many sequins guests could wear. The men\u2019s room probably had paillettes glued to their BVDs.<\/p>\n<p>The film\u2019s funny. Foul. More than teeth came out of that bridgework.<\/p>\n<p>Kargman co-writes and stars as a social-media whocares chasing \u201c1 million\u201d faux friends \u2014 black-card status-obsessed Upper East Siders \u2014 until an unexpected oops shakes what\u2019s under her bra, etc.<\/p>\n<p>A funny foul-mouthed slice of NYC\u2019s Upper East Siders, it\u2019s the momzillas who do lunch after lunch with events, parties, galas, trunk shows, charity meetings, bar mitzvahs. It\u2019s sprinkling glitter on their graves. It\u2019s putting New York on. There\u2019s even a nice scene in a crappy cemetery where meanwhile a plane flew so low you could\u2019ve gotten a haircut.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook,\u201d she says, \u201cI developed a writing system. I\u2019ve done 12 books. I even wrote while I had a TV show for three years. I wrote while I was in the Hamptons and they were cranky. I kept writing even when my husband, daughter and I were on Christmas vacation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>OK, OK, a mazel tov to you. The film\u2019s at NYC\u2019s Quad Cinema now.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Highbrow crowd<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fridamania shortly hits NYC like a tequila. Painters, poseurs and Park Avenue patrons might soon leave their tweezers for \u201cFrida Week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019ll be silk behinds at the Met.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.metopera.org\/season\/2025-26-season\/el-ultimo-sueno-de-frida-y-diego\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">An opera<\/a>\u00a0about Frida Kahlo and husband Diego Rivera, through June 5.
