HARRIS COUNTY, Texas \u2014 Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Splashtown<\/a> is cracking down on unaccompanied minors this Mother’s Day weekend by “enforcing an enhanced Chaperone Police,” the park said on social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n That means anyone age 17 or below must be accompanied by someone 21 years old or older.<\/p>\n “This policy will be in enforcement daily from open to close,” Splashtown said.<\/p>\n The chaperone policy will be in place on Saturday, May 9, and Sunday, May 10.<\/p>\n “A valid government-issued photo ID with date of birth is required for all chaperones at the time of entry,” the park said.<\/p>\n The park said up to six children can be accompanied per chaperone, and the chaperone must stay with the group for the entire time they are in the park.<\/p>\n Splashtown didn’t say why the policy was implemented, but social media posts were circulating online promoting a possible “Teen Takeover” weekend.<\/p>\n “We believe these updates will help preserve the positive atmosphere that millions of guests have come to expect from Hurricane Harbor Splashtown, where families and friends can make lasting memories together,” the park said on its website.<\/p>\n Similar policies have been put in place at Willowbrook Mall and Memorial City Mall<\/a>.
