{"id":789477,"date":"2026-05-11T20:12:15","date_gmt":"2026-05-11T20:12:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/789477\/"},"modified":"2026-05-11T20:12:15","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T20:12:15","slug":"garden-grove-boy-who-died-in-electric-motorcycle-crash-identified-nbc-los-angeles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/789477\/","title":{"rendered":"Garden Grove boy who died in electric motorcycle crash identified \u2013 NBC Los Angeles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A teenager who died following an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/news\/local\/garden-grove-electric-motorcycle-teen-death\/3888652\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/news\/local\/garden-grove-electric-motorcycle-teen-death\/3888652\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">electric motorcycle crash<\/a> in Garden Grove was identified as 13-year-old Benson Nguyen, the Garden Grove Police Department confirmed Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The incident happened before 10 p.m. last Thursday near Magnolia Street and Larson Avenue when the boy&#8217;s electric motorcycle crashed into the center median, according to police. <\/p>\n<p>Shortly before the collision, the 13-year-old was traveling at about 35 miles per hour. It was not immediately clear what caused the teen to crash into the divider. <\/p>\n<p>Benson was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries, police said. <\/p>\n<p>A witness, who pulled over to help, described the violent impact of the crash as the teen was &#8220;was gasping for air.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe knew the kid. He was always on his bike,\u201d Eduardo Avalos said, adding that he removed Benson&#8217;s helmet strap to help him breathe better. \u201cHe was always here with other bike riders, riding the bike and it was just going too fast.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Police sought additional witnesses or people who have a video of the incident.
