{"id":789583,"date":"2026-05-11T21:21:15","date_gmt":"2026-05-11T21:21:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/789583\/"},"modified":"2026-05-11T21:21:15","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T21:21:15","slug":"body-found-near-railroad-tracks-tied-to-six-deaths-in-laredo-union-pacific-cargo-train","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/789583\/","title":{"rendered":"Body found near railroad tracks tied to six deaths in Laredo Union Pacific cargo train"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN ANTONIO \u2014 A multi-agency investigation is underway after a body was discovered near railroad tracks in Southwest Bexar County on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>The body was discovered by authorities near Pue and Wolf Road around 1:30 p.m., according to BCSO.<\/p>\n<p>BCSO said on Saturday, a woman who was traveling on a train that originated from Del Rio called her sister, who was out of state, and told her the boxcar was overheating.  <\/p>\n<p>Her sister reported this and the San Antonio Police Department responded but did not find anything on Saturday, sources said. <\/p>\n<p>When the train arrived in San Antonio, the train split. Some boxcars went to Laredo while some went to other destinations. <\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/news4sanantonio.com\/news\/local\/multiple-bodies-found-in-union-pacific-cargo-train-at-laredo-railyard-mass-casuality-texas-migrants-texas-heat?teaserSource=trending\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">RELATED: Six people confirmed dead in Union Pacific cargo train at Laredo railyard<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re told six people that were found in a Union Pacific train in Laredo on Sunday afternoon are believed to have been connected to the train that originated in Del Rio and split in San Antonio. <\/p>\n<p>BCSO tells us that a sensor was tripped and near there is where they found the body of a male this afternoon, who is believed to have been on the same train that originated in Del Rio. <\/p>\n<p>The Bexar County Medical Examiner is working on identifying the man. Sheriff Salazar said the man was in possession of a Mexican voter registration card. <\/p>\n<p>Investigators believe the man was being smuggled. We have reached out to Homeland Security Investigations, who is now the lead agency investigating both cases.<\/p>\n<p>BCSO says charges are pending. No arrests have been made as of yet.
