{"id":789997,"date":"2026-05-12T01:32:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T01:32:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/789997\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T01:32:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T01:32:13","slug":"7-charged-in-alleged-gta-driver-exam-bribery-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/789997\/","title":{"rendered":"7 charged in alleged GTA driver exam bribery scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Seven people have been arrested after an Ontario Provincial Police-led (OPP) investigation uncovered alleged fraudulent activity related to G-test driver examinations in the Greater Toronto Area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">In September 2024, the OPP launched an investigation into suspected irregularities during driver examinations for G licences in Ontario, the police force said in a news release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">According to the OPP\u2019s Serious Fraud Office, it examined allegations that bribes were exchanged for \u201cfavourable consideration\u201d during the testing of specific applicants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Seven people were arrested as a result of the probe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">They are Farhad Sanders, 43, of Maple, Ont.; Abdulkarim Afrayim Sava, 65, of Brampton; Ahmed Ismail Ghanchi, 44; Michelle Miceli, 49; and Shanna Marie Tozer, 43, all of Toronto; and Elizabeth Taylor, 50, of Mississauga.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police said the accused face a combined total of 25 charges, including conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, breach of trust, money laundering, and secret commissions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The accused were all released from police custody and are expected to appear in court later this week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Seven people have been arrested after an Ontario Provincial Police-led (OPP) investigation uncovered alleged fraudulent activity related to&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":789998,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[4717,2147,50],"class_list":{"0":"post-789997","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-news","8":"tag-apple-news","9":"tag-canada","10":"tag-news"},"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@us\/116559029757210715","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/789997","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=789997"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/789997\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/789998"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=789997"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=789997"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=789997"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
