{"id":790151,"date":"2026-05-12T03:06:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T03:06:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/790151\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T03:06:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T03:06:14","slug":"survivor-host-jeff-probsts-brother-dies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/790151\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Survivor&#8217; host Jeff Probst&#8217;s brother dies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cSurvivor\u201d host Jeff Probst has lost a beloved member of his tribe.<\/p>\n<p>One of the television personality\u2019s brothers, Brent, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/amandaandabbysdad24\/p\/DYM_0MOm17r\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">announced via Instagram<\/a> on Monday that their other brother, Scott, had died.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome sad news, our brother Scott is no longer with us,\u201d Brent wrote. \u201cHe was a great brother, son and friend. I will miss him so much \u2764\ufe0f I\u2019m so sad he is gone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A cause of death was not revealed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSurvivor\u201d host Jeff Probst (seen here in February 2026) is mourning the death of his brother, Scott. Instagram\/Brent Probst<\/p>\n<p>Page Six has reached out to representatives for Jeff, but did not receive an immediate response.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm2571305\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">his IMDb page<\/a>, Scott previously worked with Jeff on \u2018Survivor,\u2019 working in the art department, the property department and the camera and electrical department in various roles between 2006 and 2012.<\/p>\n<p>He also worked in video games, serving as production coordinator on 2003\u2019s \u201cMedal of Honor: Rising Sun\u201d and as producer on 2005\u2019s \u201cMedal of Honor: European Assault\u201d and 2010\u2019s \u201cCommand &amp; Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brent wrote that Scott was a \u201ca great brother\u201d to him and Jeff (seen here in 2003) as well as a \u201cson and friend.\u201d CBS via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Scott previously worked on \u201cSurvivor\u201d in various capacities between 2006 and 2012 alongside Jeff (pictured here in 2002). Getty Images for CBS Broadcasting Inc.<\/p>\n<p>Though Jeff rarely speaks about his family in interviews, he has opened up about how being raised in Kansas, before his family moved to Washington state when he was 15, influenced his life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve lived in Seattle, New York and Los Angeles and traveled all over the world with \u2018Survivor,\u2019 but there is nowhere else I would have rather grown up than Wichita, Kansas,\u201d he told the Topeka Capital-Journal in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had great friendships. I made great memories, and I was raised with strong values,\u201d he added. \u201cI choose to believe those early years gave me the foundation I would later need to withstand the challenges of Hollywood.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSurvivor\u201d paid tribute to Jeff\u2019s mother, Barbara, after her death in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The show paid tribute to Jeff\u2019s (pictured here in 2002) mother, Barbara, after her death in 2024. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>An on-screen in memoriam during Season 47 called Jeff\u2019s (seen here in 2003) mother \u201cthe biggest \u2018Survivor\u2019 fan of all time.\u201d CBS via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDedicated to Barb, the biggest \u2018Survivor\u2019 fan of all time,\u201d an on-screen in memoriam read at the end of a Season 47 episode. \u201cSee you on our next adventure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a tribute <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DCIvn_6R7jP\/?img_index=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">shared to Instagram<\/a> at the time, Brent revealed their mother \u201chad full-time care for dementia\u201d over the past few years and \u201cdied one week before her 86th birthday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe was the best mom, grandma and just a fantastic person full of love and life,\u201d he wrote. \u201cShe had a great life and I am certain that I am a good person because she and my dad raised me with love and humor.
