There are 11 seats at the council table.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There were no incumbents in Ward 1 since Shawn Crossman ran for mayor and Paulette Th\u00e9riault didn&#8217;t re-offer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Th\u00e9riault had served as the city&#8217;s acting mayor for the past year following Dawn Arnold&#8217;s appointment to the Senate.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Mike Gaudet, Felix LeBlanc was also elected in Ward 1.<\/p>\n<p>There are also no incumbents in Ward 2.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Coun. Daniel Bourgeois was defeated, and Coun. Charles L\u00e9ger ran unsuccessfully for mayor.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Marc Leger and Kristin Cavoukian are the councillors-elect in Ward 2.<\/p>\n<p>In Ward 3, incumbent Bryan Butler is returning along with newcomer to council Julianna Mutch. Incumbent Dave Steeves was defeated.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In Ward 4, Paul Richard was re-elected. Kate Doyle was also elected. Coun. Susan Edgett opted not to re-offer in that ward.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For councillors-at-large, Marty Kingston was re-elected. Greg Turner was also elected.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a return to the council chamber for Turner, who previously held an at-large seat before running for municipal office and serving as a cabinet minister under Progressive Conservative premier Blaine Higgs.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Many new faces on Moncton council Besides a new mayor, Moncton also has six new councillors.
