\n University of Chicago Booth School of Business<\/a> has appointed
\n Robert Stover, Jr (main photo) as the inaugural executive
\n director of its Family Office Initiative (FOI).
\n<\/p>\n
\n Stover has more than 30 years\u2019 experience advising family
\n enterprises, family offices, their principals and family members
\n across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America.
\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cChicago Booth has long been a leader in rigorous thinking and
\n practical insight, and its Family Office Initiative is uniquely
\n positioned to support principals and executives as they make
\n decisions that will span generations,\u201d Stover said in a
\n statement.\u00a0
\n<\/p>\n
\n Booth\u2019s FOI was founded in October 2024. The organization says it
\n is one of the first major academic institutions in the country to
\n implement a comprehensive program to support\u00a0family office
\n leaders, making the school a pathbreaker in this space.\u00a0
\n<\/p>\n
\n The rise of such establishments speaks to the growing demand for
\n venues where industry professionals and the families they serve
\n can develop knowledge and insights.\u00a0According to some
\n measures, there are north of 8,000 family offices worldwide. The
\n multi-trillion dollar intergenerational wealth transfer taking
\n place that is also creating\u00a0much of the need for such
\n institutions.
\n<\/p>\n

\n Stover retired from Ernst & Young, LLP (EY) in 2025 as co-global
\n family enterprise leader and Americas family enterprise and
\n family office leader. During his tenure, Stover created and led
\n platforms including the EY Family Enterprise DNA framework, the
\n Family Enterprise Summit, and built the Family Office Advisory
\n Services practice.
\n<\/p>\n
\n In support of its networking efforts, Booth\u2019s second annual FOI
\n Summit will take place this month in Chicago.\u00a0
