Since then, the company says more than 200,000 Texans from its interest list have already taken rides.<\/p>\n<p>Including its existing Austin service, Waymo now operates across more than 250 square miles in four Texas cities, with plans to continue expanding.<\/p>\n<p>In San Antonio, Waymo says dozens of autonomous vehicles now serve more than 60 square miles, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>San Antonio International Airport terminal pickup and drop-off now open to all riders<\/li>\n<li>Downtown San Antonio<\/li>\n<li>San Antonio River Walk<\/li>\n<li>The Alamo<\/li>\n<li>Convention Center<\/li>\n<li>North Star Mall<\/li>\n<li>Fairgrounds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Waymo says airports remain a major priority, with testing still underway at Dallas Love Field and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>The company also points to safety data, saying an analysis of 170 million rider-only miles found Waymo vehicles were involved in 92% fewer crashes causing serious or fatal injuries than human drivers, and 83% fewer crashes involving airbag deployments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat began as a focused testing phase evolved rapidly,\u201d said Chief Product Officer Saswat Panigrahi. \u201cWe\u2019re ready to show more Texans the future of mobility.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So yes, the future just pulled up curbside in San Antonio.<\/p>\n<p>Simply <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kens5.com\/article\/news\/local\/waymo-san-antonio-self-driving-rides-autonomous-cars-app-launch-airport-river-walk-alamo-downtown-texas-rideshare\/%7C5653b8d778604ab2c93d08de9f0cb438%7Cccd8a79b7268413b878971f8b6f4c0df%7C1%7C0%7C639123074111173673%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ==%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=kewsCnCl6wooZQtJQ6HMLg2QKECBojXzG4%2FL4UGKT5Q=&amp;reserved=0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">download<\/a> the Waymo app and ride today!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"SAN ANTONIO \u2014 San Antonio, your next rideshare may not have anyone behind the wheel.
