{"id":791295,"date":"2026-05-12T15:02:24","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T15:02:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/791295\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T15:02:24","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T15:02:24","slug":"iphone-18-pro-may-have-aggressive-starting-price-despite-ram-crisis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/791295\/","title":{"rendered":"iPhone 18 Pro May Have &#8216;Aggressive&#8217; Starting Price Despite RAM Crisis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While the ongoing RAM chip shortage is leading some Android smartphone makers to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idc.com\/promo\/smartphone-market-share\/market-share\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">increase prices<\/a>, one analyst believes that Apple will take advantage of the situation with the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Four-iPhone-18-Pro-Colors-Mock-Feature.jpg\"   alt=\"Four iPhone 18 Pro Colors Mock Feature\" width=\"2500\" height=\"1406\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1045343\"\/><br \/>In a research note with GF Securities today, analyst Jeff Pu said he expects Apple to outperform in the smartphone market by having an &#8220;aggressive pricing strategy&#8221; for the iPhone 18 Pro models. He previously predicted that the starting prices of the iPhone 18 Pro models will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2026\/02\/10\/iphone-18-pro-pricing-estimate\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">unchanged or only slightly higher<\/a> compared to the iPhone 17 Pro models.<\/p>\n<p>In the U.S., the iPhone 17 Pro starts at $1,099 and the iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at $1,199, with 256GB of storage. Both devices are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2025\/09\/09\/iphone-17-pro-iphone-air-ram-amounts\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">equipped with 12GB of RAM<\/a>, and the iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to have an equal amount of RAM.<\/p>\n<p>Apple said that it expects &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2026\/04\/30\/apple-memory-costs-significantly-higher\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">significantly higher memory costs<\/a>&#8221; in the current March-June quarter, so it is not entirely immune to the problem. However, Apple&#8217;s scale likely gives it more leverage over RAM suppliers compared to most if not all Android smartphone makers.
